CTET Cutoff 2026 – Category-Wise Qualifying Marks

CBSE does not release a separate merit-based cutoff list for CTET since it is an eligibility test, not a selection exam. Instead, CBSE prescribes minimum qualifying marks based on category. Candidates who meet these marks receive the CTET eligibility certificate — now valid for a lifetime.

Important: The CTET qualifying percentage is 60% for General/UR category and 55% for all reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, PwD, EWS). These marks are the same for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Category Min. Qualifying Marks Out of Qualifying % Status
General / UR 90 150 60% ✅ Eligible
OBC 82 150 55% ✅ Eligible
SC 82 150 55% ✅ Eligible
ST 82 150 55% ✅ Eligible
EWS 82 150 55% ✅ Eligible
PwD (Divyang) 82 150 55% ✅ Eligible
🎯 Good Score: A score between 90–95 is considered good. A score of 120+ (80%) is considered excellent and gives an edge during teaching recruitment.

CTET Previous Year Cutoff Trends

Since CTET follows a fixed qualifying marks system, the cutoff has remained highly stable over the years. Variations are minimal (±1–3 marks). Below is a trend comparison:

Exam Year General (Out of 150) Reserved (Out of 150) General % Reserved %
2026 (Feb)908260%55%
2024 (Jul)908260%55%
2023 (Aug)908260%55%
2023 (Jan)908260%55%
2022 (Dec)908260%55%
2021 (Dec)908260%55%

The cutoff has remained stable across all sessions, reflecting the consistent nature of CBSE’s NCTE-guided qualifying framework.

Is CTET score different for Paper 1 and Paper 2?

Can I get my CTET Result 2026 rechecked or re-evaluated?
No. CBSE does not permit rechecking or re-evaluation of CTET results. The result declared based on the final answer key is considered absolutely final. However, candidates can raise objections against the provisional answer key within the stipulated window (at ₹1,000 per question).
